A gatefold brochure is similar to a trifold brochure in that it has three panels and two folds where the brochure folds in on itself, but with a gatefold, the right and left panels are half the width of the center panel and they meet in the middle to form a complete picture (usually). Also, because the center panel is larger, it is usually the focus when the brochure is opened, leaving the two side panels for additional information.
